Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week or so, you know that today is a big day — the public release of iOS 7. However, some of you may not realize that this release is not just a momentous occasion for Apple, but for the tech world as a whole.
How so, you ask? iOS 7 will mark the largest software update ever. Forbes estimated tens of millions of users will download the new iOS system for the iPhone or iPad this morning. The brains behind the new operating system, Apple’s chief designer Jony Ive said, “We are defining an important new direction, and in many ways, a new beginning.”
We are thrilled to join Apple in this evolution with the release of the News360 iOS 7 app.
To make sure that we take full advantage of the new features and the design aesthetic of iOS 7, we’ve redesigned News360 from the ground up — every single screen and control have been redrawn to match the beautiful new look made possible by the iOS update. The new News360 update gets rid of distractions, navigation, shadows, and borders. It focuses your attention on the things that really matter — the images and headlines surfaced by our personalization technology, as well as the text of the stories you are reading.
Since we were so thoroughly redesigning the app, we’ve also added a few new features, like the ability to swipe right to go back and adaptive sharing – News360 will now learn which services you share most often and reorder the sharing screen so that your favorites are at the top.
Overall, we think the new News360 update is just like iOS 7 – more beautiful and much easier and simpler to use. We hope you like it as much as we do!
